I was born Wendong Zhang and I’m 17 years old, but everyone calls me David. I moved from Qingdao, China (where they are holding part of the 2008 Olympics) when I was 5. I’ve lived in various parts of the U.S., but our family moved to Mississippi right before I started 8th grade, and I’ve lived here since.

     School takes up a large portion of my life right now, as it would any college-bound junior/senior, but my extra-curricular activities at school include debate and quiz bowl. On my own, I play chess at local and state tournaments, and I also play violin at a local college orchestra. I enjoy classical music, though typically only from post-Romantic period. I also enjoy jazz and various rock and pop bands. On my own time I enjoy video games, relaxing with friends, and reading. Good ways to classify me would be rather laid back and cynically romantic. One of my favorite books is The Princess Bride (the movie, though funny, is but a shadow of the book’s humor and wit), which says a lot about me for those who have read it.
